Floaty is committed to respecting your privacy and protecting your data. Our app operates entirely on your Mac and collects only what’s necessary to keep things running smoothly.
1. Permissions and Local Processing
Floaty requires the following system permissions:
- Screen Recording — to display live previews and allow you to pin or unpin windows. Screen content is processed locally on your Mac and never uploaded, recorded, or transmitted.
- Accessibility — to enable Floaty to control and manage windows for pinning. These permissions are used strictly for app functionality and never for tracking or monitoring.
All screen and window activity remains on your device. Floaty does not access, transmit, or store your personal files or screen contents.
2. Diagnostic and Usage Data
To improve stability and performance, Floaty may collect anonymous diagnostic information, such as:
- Crash reports
- App version and macOS version
- General, non-identifiable usage statistics (for example, which features are most used)
This data contains no screen content or personal information and cannot be used to identify you. You can opt out of analytics at any time through app settings.
3. Data Sharing and Security
Floaty does not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. Diagnostic data, when collected, is processed securely and used only to fix bugs and improve the product experience.
We maintain strict safeguards to ensure all processing complies with applicable privacy standards, including GDPR principles.
